Rob Roy Way

The Rob Roy Way is an unofficial long distance walking route starting at Drymen and finishing at Pitlochry. It goes through stunning scenery using ancient tracks and paths, providing fairly easy walking underfoot. It is 127km or 148km depending on your route and averages 7 days. It starts from Drymen Square. The end of the first section is at Aberfoyle from where we can pick you up and drop you back if you would like to stay with us for another night.

It is called the Rob Roy Way as it follows routes used by Rob Roy Mcgregor as he lived and worked and fought in the 17th and 18th century. You walk along three different Lochs on the way as well as taking in the stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Like other routes it can also be done in sections, and can also be cycled as alot of the route shares a cycle way. Having done most of the route ourselves, we would recommend this if you want to do a long distance walk which is easier and less busy than the West Highland Way.
